1. Approval of Agenda: Passed.

2. April Meeting Minutes: Approved pending corrections.

3. Elections: Kerry Redican was elected President of the Senate. Jim Collier was elected Secretary. President Valerie Hardcastle repeated her announcement from a July 12 e-mail that she had accepted the position of Dean of the McMicken College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Cincinnati. With heavy hearts and deep appreciation for her service to the university, the Senate wished Valerie well in her new position.

4. Executive Session: The remainder of the meeting was held in executive session.

5. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.

6. Next Meeting: The next meeting of the Faculty Senate will occur on Tuesday, September 11 at 7:00 p.m. in Pamplin 32.
